Former APC chairman Salihu Lukman stated Monday that some monarchies function better than Nigeria's ruling party, claiming no democratic structure works within APC. Speaking on Trust TV, Lukman noted the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) hasn't met in six months despite constitutional quarterly meetings, and other party organs are inactive. He attributed APC's overconfidence in 2027 election prospects to a fragmented opposition unable to mount a challenge. Lukman, who joined then suspended membership in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after leaving APC, urged the party to 'wake up' through external pressure. His comments come amid related Osun State political coverage including Atiku's Ogbomoso rally and Adeleke-APC clashes over election allegations.
