Earlier today, Nigerian singer Falz told Arise 360 host Racheal Ayodele that he has never mentioned any politician's name or political party while speaking out against bad governance in the country. He said the comment came after a potential partner told his management that his activism was hurting their business, and he responded that anyone who takes issue with his stance is part of the problem Nigerians face. Falz added that his critique targets the system of governance, not individuals, saying, 'I've mentioned no name, I've mentioned no political party or whatever. So, in fact what they do say when speaking with my manager was something political but this is absolutely zero affiliation. I'm just talking about what is going on. If you have a problem with them, then you are the problem.' The interview highlights the personal cost artists may face when they advocate for accountability, showing that standing on principle can lead to lost deals or partnerships. For Nigerians who enjoy his music and admire his activism, it raises the question of how to support artists who risk their livelihoods for social commentary.

If you were in Falz's position, would you risk losing business opportunities to speak out on governance, or would you stay silent to protect your income?
