Fayose accuses Atiku, Tambuwal of destroying PDP

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal of destroying the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Fayose made the allegation during a Friday interview on Channels Television's 'Politics Today'. He stated that both Atiku and Tambuwal bear responsibility for the party's decline, emphasizing that politics is unfair and life is unbalanced. Fayose, who is not currently contesting any election, said he feels free to speak truth to Nigerians without seeking favors from anyone. The former governor also touched on the Rivers State political crisis, revealing he once warned FCT Minister Nyesom Wike against betrayal by Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Fayose said he was seated on the high table during Fubara's swearing-in ceremony in Rivers and told Wike directly that he wanted to advise the new governor not to betray him. These comments come amid ongoing divisions within the PDP as the party approaches the 2027 general elections.
