FCMB Group Plc notified the Nigerian Exchange Limited, shareholders and the investing public of a potential delay in releasing its nine-month unaudited financial statements for the period ended September 30, 2026. The disclosure, contained in a regulatory filing signed by Company Secretary Mrs. Olufunmilayo Adedibu, states that the third-quarter results, ordinarily expected by the October 30, 2026 deadline, will now be published on or before December 29, 2026.

The Group attributed the extension to an ongoing interim audit of its flagship and largest subsidiary, First City Monument Bank Limited (FCMB), noting that the audit’s outcome would have a material impact on its consolidated financial statements. Management said it would complete and submit the consolidated accounts to the Exchange immediately after the audit review, ahead of the revised deadline.

This delay matters because investors rely on timely financial disclosures to make informed decisions, especially after FCMB Group’s strong half-year performance: profit before tax jumped 99% year-on-year to N157.3 billion, gross earnings rose 27.8% to N676.2 billion, and all four divisions posted double-digit growth. The delay also follows the Group’s N500 billion recapitalisation earlier in 2026, which enabled its banking subsidiary to meet the Central Bank of Nigeria’s capital requirement for an international banking licence.

Investors should monitor the NGX for the updated results on or before December 29, 2026, consider how the audit outcome might affect future earnings, and stay informed about any further disclosures. Will you adjust your investment stance based on the upcoming audit outcome, or wait for the December 29 release?
