Fenerbahçe have announced the signing of Nigerian midfielder Suliat Abideen from Turkish side ABB Fomget on a contract that runs until the end of the 2026-27 season. The deal brings the number of Nigerians in the Fenerbahçe women's squad to three, joining existing teammates Regina Out and Flourish Sabastine. Abideen, aged 24, helped Edo Queens win the 2024 Nigeria Women Football League title and was named Most Valuable Player of that season.

This transfer underscores Turkey's growing appeal as a destination for top Nigerian women's footballers. After starring domestically, Abideen now moves to her second European club, having previously played for ABB Fomget in the same league. Her arrival strengthens Fenerbahçe's midfield options as they defend their Turkcell Women's Super League crown and aim for deeper runs in continental competitions.

For Nigerian fans, the move offers a chance to watch a rising star compete regularly in a professional league abroad. Her performances could influence Super Falcons selection ahead of upcoming qualifiers. Will this stint in Istanbul elevate her international prospects, or serve as a stepping stone to an even bigger league elsewhere?
