The Federal Ministry of Interior has declared a circulating notice claiming the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) recruitment is postponed until after the 2027 general election as fake and fraudulent. The notice, titled “CDCFIB Recruitment Update” and dated August 11, 2026, falsely attributes the statement to Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. In a Thursday release signed by Permanent Secretary Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the ministry said the minister did not sign or issue the document and that no decision has been made to defer the recruitment exercise. It added that funding challenges have not forced any suspension and the recruitment remains ongoing. The clarification follows widespread sharing of the false notice on social media, which caused anxiety among applicants. The ministry urged the public to rely only on official communication channels from the Ministry and CDCFIB’s verified platforms for accurate updates. Applicants are advised to disregard the fake notice entirely and to stay cautious of misleading recruitment information circulating online. The ministry warned that only information published through its official sites should be trusted, and that the CDCFIB recruitment exercise continues as scheduled.
