The Federal Ministry of Youth Development launched the National Youth in Agribusiness Land Trust Fund on Monday, June 1, 2026 in Abuja. This initiative aims to improve land access for over 500,000 young Nigerians building sustainable agribusiness enterprises, addressing a major barrier for young agripreneurs. Supported by FCMB and IITA, the program creates pathways for financing, enterprise development, job creation, and long-term economic growth. Minister Ayodele Olawande emphasized they plan to train over 6 million Nigerian youths and support at least 500,000 youth-led agribusinesses with connections to local and international markets. FCMB's Divisional Head noted agriculture must be presented as a modern, technology-driven business with opportunities in logistics, processing, and digital innovation. This initiative could transform Nigeria's agricultural landscape and position agribusiness as a key driver of economic empowerment for youth.
