FG, states share N2.3tn May revenue: FG gets N818bn, states N759bn

FAAC distributed N2.300 trillion of May 2026 federation revenue: FG received N818.680 billion, states N759.141 billion, local governments N534.277 billion, and derivation revenue N188.132 billion (13% of mineral earnings) to benefiting states. The total comprised N1.611 trillion distributable statutory revenue and N688.785 billion VAT revenue.

This allocation directly impacts state and local government budgets for salaries, infrastructure projects, and public services. Statutory revenue rose N273.62 billion from April's N2.378 trillion, while VAT fell N62.95 billion from April's N806.62 billion. Gross May revenue was N3.395 trillion after N123.55 billion collection costs and N971.61 billion transfers/refunds.

With states and LGCs receiving over N1.29 trillion combined, this release affects public sector spending capacity nationwide. Monitor how state governments allocate these funds for development projects and salary payments in coming months.
