Former Minister of Youths and Sports Solomon Dalung claims President Bola Tinubu fears ex-Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai, who he says 'created' Tinubu's presidency. In a June 8 interview on Mic on Podcast, Dalung detailed how El-Rufai mobilized Northern governors to support Tinubu's 2023 presidential campaign after Buhari initially backed Ahmed Lawan. 'El-Rufai brought Tinubu and minus El-Rufai Tinubu would not have accepted in the North in 2023,' Dalung stated. He alleged there's a deliberate attempt to keep El-Rufai incarcerated through alternating court cases with 'impossible' bail conditions until after 2027. 'The best they can do is to have him incarcerated, alternating him from one court to the other. They'll keep doing this and granting bail,' Dalung added. The former minister claimed this strategy prevents El-Rufai from influencing politics during the transition period.
