France and Sweden have pushed back against the US tariff threat, insisting they won't be intimidated over their opposition to any attempt to take over Greenland. French President Emmanuel Macron reaffirmed France's commitment to Greenland's sovereignty, saying France's foreign policy is guided by respect for international law. Macron described tariff threats as unacceptable and said Europe would respond in a united manner if the measures were confirmed. Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson also said Sweden would not give in to what he described as blackmail from the US leadership, maintaining that decisions concerning Greenland rest solely with Denmark and Greenland. The US recently imposed a 10% tariff on eight European countries, including Sweden, over their opposition to the proposed annexation of Greenland. Will the EU's united response be enough to deter the US from further action?
