From Passion to Enterprise: How Tolu Eletu Is shaping Nigeria’s wellness industry
Add us on Google Nigeria’s wellness industry is growing, but it is still largely unstructured and undervalued. For Tolu Eletu, Founder and Wellness Director of Neubelle Med and Wellness Centre, this gap is both a challenge and an opportunity. “My dream is for the Nigerian wellness industry to become a respected and recognised profession,” she says. “I want people to proudly say, ‘I am a wellness practitioner,’ and be respected for the value they bring.” To bring this vision to life, Eletu launched the Wellness Impact Forum, a platform designed to address one of the industry’s biggest challenges lack of structure. The first Forum was held in Lagos on 4 December 2025, and brought together 50 selected wellness entrepreneurs. The theme, “Empowering Nigeria’s Wellness Future: From Passion to Sustainable Enterprise,” reflected a key message: wellness must move beyond passion and become a structured, sustainable business. The event featured respected speakers such as Joycee Awosika, Dr Hilda Titiloye, Bunmi George, and Layo Ogunbanwo. They focused on important areas often missing in the industry, including professionalism, strong operations, clear branding, and meeting the expectations of a more informed and quality-conscious market. The Forum was not just about discussions. Seven participants received direct support, including funding, executive coaching, and professional equipment to help them grow their businesses and become more sustainable. Eletu has also shown how these ideas can work in practice. On 8 March 2026, Neubelle hosted an International Women’s Day experience themed “Give to Gain.” The event was a small, carefully designed wellness session for women, featuring yoga, steam therapy, and a calm, restorative environment. This was more than a celebration; it demonstrated what a well-structured, high-quality wellness experience can look like in Nigeria. By combining industry conversations with real-life application, Neubelle is playing a leading role in raising standards. It is not only talking about change but actively showing how it can be done. As global interest in wellness continues to grow, Nigeria has strong potential in this space. However, without proper structure, standards, and credibility, the industry may remain informal and undervalued. Through the Wellness Impact Forum and initiatives like “Give to Gain,” Tolu Eletu is helping to shape a new future one where Nigeria’s wellness industry is professional, sustainable, and globally competitive.
