Gallas urges Arsenal to sign Camavinga as Zubimendi replacement
Former Arsenal defender William Gallas has recommended Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga as Martin Zubimendi's replacement at Arsenal for the 2026 summer transfer window. Gallas believes Zubimendi, who joined from Real Sociedad last summer, lacks the physical ability to perform "dirty work" in midfield. "Martin Odegaard needs someone behind him to do the dirty work—to run, compete physically, win the ball and give him the ball," Gallas stated. While Declan Rice already performs this role, Gallas argues Arsenal needs another player with Camavinga's physical capabilities to strengthen their midfield presence. The Spanish international would provide the physicality and ball-winning skills Gallas believes are currently missing from Arsenal's midfield.
