Geregu Power Plc has approved a dividend of ₦9 per ordinary share for the 2025 financial year, totaling ₦22.5 billion for shareholders. This is a steady increase from ₦8.5 per share paid in FY 2024, continuing an upward trend in payouts.

The final dividend will be subject to shareholder approval at an upcoming Annual General Meeting, with the date yet to be announced. The company also reviewed its audited 2025 financial statements, showing strong performance. For the nine months ended September 2025, retained earnings rose to ₦55.1 billion while pre-tax profit increased 3.31% to ₦37.46 billion. Q3 revenue jumped 37.38% to ₦43.83 billion.

Geregu Power also stands to benefit from the Federal Government's ₦500 billion payout to settle outstanding debts in the power sector, as part of a broader ₦4 trillion Genco debt resolution. This follows a completed $750 million divestment by Femi Otedola, who sold his 95% stake in Amperion Power Distribution Company to Abuja-based MA'AM Energy Ltd, marking one of Nigeria's largest private power sector deals.

With Geregu's current share price at ₦1,141.5, the dividend yield stands at 0.79%. Will you reinvest the dividend payouts or take profits given the stock's performance in 2026?
