Ghana to host 2027 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations
Ghana will host the 2027 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, marking the West African nation's second time organizing the tournament. The biennial competition will feature 12 teams and serve as the qualifying tournament for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Ghana previously hosted in 1999, when their Black Satellites defeated Nigeria's Flying Eagles 2-0 in the final to lift the trophy. South Africa are the current defending champions of the tournament.
For West African football fans, this creates an opportunity for regional teams, especially Nigeria's Flying Eagles, to qualify for the global tournament on home soil. The Ghana-Nigeria rivalry adds extra significance to the qualification matches.
