The Goodluck Jonathan Legacy Project (GJLP) issued a statement Thursday rejecting former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar's claim that ex-President Goodluck Jonathan's "inexperience" hampered his leadership. GJLP National Coordinator Juan Amechee argued Jonathan's prior roles—Deputy Governor of Bayelsa, Governor, Vice President, and Acting President—contradict the inexperience label.

GJLP highlighted Jonathan's administration achievements: Nigeria became Africa's largest economy, attracted strong foreign direct investment, maintained single-digit inflation at times, and reduced poverty to 35.8%—the lowest since 1999. They cited Jonathan's FAO award in 2013 for hunger-reduction progress, securing two UN Security Council seats for Nigeria, and supporting Akinwumi Adesina's emergence as AfDB president in 2015. The statement also underscored Jonathan's 2015 election concession as a key democratic advancement.

Countering Atiku, GJLP questioned his executive credentials despite lengthy presidential ambitions, noting his transitions between political parties reflected inconsistency rather than cohesive leadership. They insisted Jonathan's record remains "public, verifiable, and enduring," urging Nigerians to assess leaders by measurable outcomes, not political narratives.

When evaluating Nigeria's leaders, do you prioritize documented achievements and service history, or political rhetoric shaped by ambition and rivalry?
