Glovo launches Shopping Assistant for ChatGPT and Claude, enabling conversational shopping
Glovo has launched a Shopping Assistant that works inside ChatGPT and Claude, allowing users to shop via natural language. After linking the Glovo app to either AI platform via a plugin, users type @glovo followed by a request—for example, 'a last‑minute gift for a coffee lover under ₦50,000'. The assistant remembers context, runs a semantic search, checks local store availability, and returns a carousel of up to five product options, each showing an image, name, store name, rating and price. Tapping 'View on Glovo' redirects the user to the Glovo mobile or web app where payment and final order completion happen; the store prepares the item and a courier delivers it within minutes. Glovo says the move targets the retail and grocery sectors, tapping into the growing habit of using generative AI for product research and aiming to capture high‑intent traffic as search behaviours shift from keyword‑based to intent‑based. The service is available in the 22 countries where Glovo operates across Europe, Central Asia and Africa, though the announcement does not specify which African markets are live. Users interested in trying it can install the Glovo plugin in ChatGPT or Claude and start conversational shopping now.
