Google releases Antigravity AI platform for autonomous coding agents

Google introduced Antigravity, an agentic development platform that lets AI agents handle multi-step coding and knowledge-work tasks without constant developer input. Unveiled in November 2025 and expanded since, Antigravity now includes Antigravity 2.0 desktop hub, a CLI, a Python SDK, and a full IDE, all powered by Google's Gemini 3.7 Flash model released in August 2026. Users give agents a goal: such as building a feature or fixing bugs, and the agents can read/write files, run commands, search the web, delegate subtasks to other agents, and work asynchronously or on a schedule. Outputs appear as Artifacts, which are reviewable documents, diagrams or recordings that show exactly what the agent did. Google says the platform shifts the developer's role from writing every line of code to supervising and directing AI agents, while still requiring human judgment for final decisions. Antigravity is free under an Individual plan, with paid Google AI tiers offering higher limits, and runs on Windows, macOS and Linux.
