The governor gave the assurance during the swearing-in ceremony for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II corps members deployed to the state for the mandatory one-year national service. The governor encouraged them to embrace the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the growth of their host communities and the country at large. He also advised corps members to make good use of the orientation exercise and uphold the trust reposed in them by the nation. Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Umoren Kufre, commended the governor for his support for the scheme, particularly the renovation of corps members’ hostels and the construction of a multipurpose hall at the orientation camp. Kufre also appreciated the state government for repairing damaged sections of the camp’s perimeter fence, which he said had posed security concerns. He noted that the intervention had improved safety at the camp and demonstrated the government’s commitment to the welfare of corps members. The coordinator disclosed that about 1,700 corps members were posted to Bauchi State for the service year, expressing confidence that they would undertake community development projects that would benefit their host communities. The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by Justice Aliyu Idris, who represented the Chief Judge of Bauchi State, Justice Rabi Talatu.
