Mitchell made the remarks during a courtesy visit to the Aku Uka of Wukari, Dr Ishaku Adda Ali, alongside other traditional rulers in Taraba State. His visit took place during the just-concluded annual Nwonyo fishing festival held in Ibi Local Government Council of the state. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1524595905268-5'); }); Expressing admiration for the region’s cultural heritage, the Grenadian leader said he was impressed by the richness of traditions in Taraba State and expressed optimism about future cooperation between both sides. “I am deeply impressed by the rich traditions here and look forward to strengthening ties that will benefit both Grenada and Taraba State,” he said. On his part, the Aku Uka of Wukari described the visit as a landmark moment in strengthening international friendship and cultural exchange, noting that the people of Wukari and Taraba State at large were honoured to host the Caribbean leader. Also speaking, the Secretary to the Government of Taraba State, Barrister Gebon Kataps, said the state government remained committed to using culture as a diplomatic and developmental tool. “We are leveraging culture as a tool of diplomacy, and this engagement will open new opportunities for collaboration and development,” he stated. Kataps further disclosed that cultural troupes from Taraba State are scheduled to visit Grenada in May, as part of ongoing efforts to deepen bilateral relations and promote cultural exchange between both regions.
