Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola admitted Manchester United was the better team after their 2-0 defeat on Saturday. The loss ended City's nine-game unbeaten run and could see them fall nine points behind league leaders Arsenal. Guardiola said: "The better team won. They were better. When a team is better you have to accept it. They had the energy we didn't have, so congratulations."

Goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu in the second half gave new manager Michael Carrick a winning start. Guardiola pointed to the Old Trafford crowd's energy, noting City "never made a threat or a cross or a movement to try and win." He emphasized it wasn't about one player but the overall performance.

The result leaves City needing a response to keep their title hopes alive. With Arsenal clear at the top, every point matters as the season enters its critical phase.
