Guazi expands inspection-backed used car sourcing from China for Nigerian buyers
Sponsored content: Guazi, a China-based used car e-commerce platform, is expanding its inspection-backed vehicle sourcing service for overseas buyers and dealers, with early market support in Africa that includes Nigeria. The company says it has completed more than three million used car transactions, inspected over thirty million vehicles, and operates in more than two hundred Chinese cities. Each listed vehicle undergoes a multi-point inspection, with results captured in a structured condition report that buyers can review online through photos, videos, and the report. Guazi also uses big data and AI tools for buyer matching and vehicle comparison, and has experience with used electric and hybrid models, including battery-health assessments.
For Nigerian buyers, the platform offers two purchase options: an auction model where you bid on available cars, or a fixed FOB price model that gives a set price quoted on a free-on-board basis, clarifying the cost up to loading at the Chinese port. After that, destination-market taxes, duties, ocean freight, customs clearance, port charges and local delivery costs depend on Nigeria's requirements. Guazi's overseas team or local service partners—such as its partner AIG in Georgia, and its directly operated team in Ghana—can help with documentation, logistics, and local-market service needs. Buyers must still follow Nigeria's own import rules, including age limits, emissions standards and documentation procedures.
Will Nigerian dealers and importers use Guazi's inspection-backed sourcing to gain more transparency and confidence when importing used cars from China, or continue with their current suppliers?
