Guinness Nigeria announced its Q2 2026 results for the quarter ended June 30, showing profit after tax surged 57% year-on-year to ₦14.91 billion, driven by 20% revenue growth to ₦142.27 billion from ₦118.66 billion in Q2 2025. The board declared an additional ₦7.00 interim dividend per ordinary share, bringing the total interim payout to ₦9.00 following the earlier ₦2.00 payment after Q1.

This strong performance reflects disciplined execution and operational excellence, with net finance costs plummeting from ₦4.61 billion to ₦1.75 billion year-on-year. Consequently, profit before tax rose to ₦22.59 billion. Chairman Fabian Ajogwu, SAN, highlighted the resilience of their long-term strategy, while MD/CEO Girish Sharma credited sustained momentum from consumer focus and operational efficiency investments.

The ₦9.00 total interim dividend represents approximately ₦15.33 billion distributed to shareholders, signaling confidence in sustained earnings and healthy cash generation. With earnings per share improving to ₦6.81 from ₦4.33, Guinness Nigeria demonstrates consistent value creation. For investors, this raises the question: will you reinvest these dividends or treat them as income, given the company's track record of consistent payouts and growth prospects?
