The Hire From Nigeria campaign launched globally at a UNGA 81 side event in Manhattan on 24 September 2026. The event, themed "Impact Sourcing As A Driver Of Global Trade And Inclusive Job Creation," featured Vice President Sen. Kashim Shettima delivering a keynote on Nigeria’s positioning as the next outsourcing frontier. Attendees included Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Niger Governor Mohammed Bago, Ministers Jumoke Oduwole (Industry, Trade and Investment) and Maruf Alausa (Education), NIMC DG Bisoye Coker-Odusote, and private-sector leaders from Itana, Mastercard Foundation, Tech4Dev, and Semicolon Africa. The campaign, a public-private partnership led by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment through NATEP and other agencies, aims to connect Nigerian talent across white- and blue-collar roles with global employers. It builds on its national launch in Abuja on 31 August 2026, where stakeholders committed to linking Nigerian professionals and service providers with international demand. By showcasing Nigeria’s talent and technology-enabled services, the initiative seeks to boost services exports, foreign exchange earnings, business growth, and job creation while helping Nigerian firms participate more actively in global value chains. The Manhattan event offers a direct platform for Nigerian officials and business leaders to engage with international employers, investors, and partners gathered for UNGA week.
