House panel uncovers forged documents, 58 accounts in PFIPC probe

Breaking: House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee on the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) has uncovered alleged forgery and alteration of presidential and legislative documents used to give the purported agency official legitimacy. Chaired by Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, the committee also disclosed the discovery of 58 bank accounts allegedly linked to the self-acclaimed Director-General, Adeniyi Adeyemi, and an alleged N400 million transaction now under investigation. It further stated that the organisation was not lawfully created by the Federal Government and that documents conferring presidential and legislative legitimacy were forged, fabricated or altered. A purported letter appointing Adeyemi as Director-General, allegedly bearing the authority and signature of Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, was found not to have been issued by the Chief of Staff or the Presidency, with evidence from the State House showing no such appointment was made or approved. The committee has exonerated Gbajabiamila from allegations that he authorised, established or participated in the PFIPC’s activities.

These findings raise serious concerns about fraudulent use of state symbols and potential misappropriation of public funds through a body that never had legal backing. The existence of dozens of bank accounts and a large transaction under scrutiny suggests possible financial impropriety that warrants further audit and possible legal action. While the Chief of Staff has been cleared, questions remain about who orchestrated the creation of the PFIPC and how it managed to operate under the guise of official legitimacy for as long as it did.
