News I see your pain– Tinubu consoles mother of boy killed in Palm Sunday attack in Jos Published on April 2, 2026 By Vanessa Onah President Bola Tinubu on Thursday visited Plateau State to console victims of the March 29 gunmen attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos, which left at least 27 people dead and several others injured. During the visit, the President met with families affected by the violence, including a grieving mother whose emotional moment holding the body of her slain son, Ayuba, in a viral video generated widespread reactions across Nigeria. Addressing the woman and other victims, Tinubu acknowledged their pain and assured them that the government would do everything possible to support them. “This experience will not repeat itself. I take responsibility. I know the pain. I saw in the video how you held on to Ayuba and the pain and agony in your heart,” the President said. He added that while the government would try to assist the victims, true healing could only come from God. “But it’s only God who can give you joy and comfort. No amount of money can pay all of you back. Yes, as a government, we will try our best to comfort you,” Tinubu stated. The President emphasized the need for justice and a return to the peaceful society many Nigerians grew up knowing. “The best solution is for justice to be done, the world that people like us grew up to know,” he said.
