Former Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo says he saw Ruben Amorim's sacking coming because the Red Devils have been inconsistent this season. Amorim was dismissed on Tuesday after United's poor run of form. Ighalo told SuperSport: "I knew Man United were going to change the coach but I didn't know it was going to be this early. The team has not been doing well. They are not consistent; they have been going up and down." The former Super Eagles attacker highlighted recent poor performances, including the home loss to Wolves where "they didn't play as a team," and the Newcastle match where United "sat back" and conceded 80% possession. United sit 14th in the Premier League table, 12 points behind leaders Liverpool. Ighalo hopes the club will appoint a manager who can take them "to the next level." With United's next league match against Arsenal this weekend, interim management will be in place. Nigerian fans following United's struggles: does Amorim's early sacking show the club is too quick to fire managers, or was the poor form and 14th place finish unavoidable?
