IGP Orders Police Senior Officer Redeployments Nationwide
Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tunji Disu has ordered the redeployment of senior officers, including Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs), to strategic formations nationwide. The directive, issued by police spokesperson Anthony Placid on Tuesday, aims to enhance operational efficiency, reinforce leadership capacity, and strengthen command structures through targeted personnel deployment. Key postings include AIG Ado Emmanuel to Research and Planning at Force HQ in Abuja, AIG Joseph Eribo to Armament Department, and AIG Miller Dantawaye to Operations. Commissioners of Police (CPs) have been reassigned to states including Jigawa (Haruna Yahaya), Oyo (Olugbenga Abimbola), and Lagos (Olatunji Fatai). Specialized units also saw changes, with CP Akan Ezima appointed Director of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) in Abuja. The IGP emphasized professionalism, discipline, and dedication in new roles, expressing confidence that the reorganisation will bolster internal capacity and improve policing outcomes across the country.
