INEC Concludes Phase II Voter Registration with 3.7M New Voters
INEC concluded Phase II of nationwide Continuous Voter Registration on Friday, April 17, 2026, recording 3,748,704 completed registrations. The figure includes 2,259,288 online pre-registrations and 1,489,416 in-person completions at designated centers across the country. The next critical phase begins April 29, when the Register of Voters for Claims and Objections will be displayed nationwide through May 5. All Nigerians who registered during Phase II must verify their details during this window to ensure accuracy and help identify ineligible entries, including duplicates, deceased persons, and non-citizens. The first phase ran August 18 to December 10, 2025. Phase III registration dates remain unspecified but will be announced by the commission. The clean voter register remains central to free, fair 2027 General Elections.
