General Oluyede delivered this directive during his operational visit to the Headquarters, Theatre Command of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY), located in Gusau, Zamfara State. He encouraged them to maintain discipline, professionalism, and unwavering determination in combating banditry and terrorism. “The safety of our citizens is our responsibility. You must remain steadfast and pursue these criminals until they are eradicated. We must ensure Nigeria’s safety at all costs,” he stated. The CDS assured the troops of continued support in terms of welfare, training, and the provision of essential operational equipment to enable them to perform their duties effectively. He also reiterated the commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to sustain pressure on criminal organizations until lasting peace is achieved across the North West and the entire country. General Oluyede highlighted the importance of air support in ongoing operations and noted that efforts are being made to enhance operational capabilities through additional resources and improved coordination across various operational theatres. As part of his visit, the CDS paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Mallam Dauda Lawal, where he expressed gratitude for the governor’s continued support for Operation FANSAN YAMMA and the military in general.
