Apple announced iOS 27 at WWDC 2026 today, focusing on performance improvements and major AI features rather than design changes. The headline addition is Siri AI, powered by Google Gemini, which can take actions across apps and understand personal context from Messages, Mail, and Photos.

The developer beta dropped June 8, 2026, while the public beta arrives July. The stable release is expected this fall, likely mid-September alongside new iPhones. For Nigerian users, compatibility depends on your device:

iPhone 11-14 get iOS 27 but miss Siri AI due to hardware limitations. Only iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max and iPhone 16/17 models get full Siri AI functionality. The standard iPhone 15 doesn't qualify due to 6GB RAM requirements.

Tech experts advise most users to wait for the stable release—betas often cause battery drain, overheating, and app crashes. If you install the beta, create a computer backup first since iCloud backups can't be restored to iOS 26.

Notably, Siri AI launches in English but won't be available in the EU or China at launch due to regulatory issues. UK and South African availability isn't officially confirmed yet. Will you install the beta or wait for the stable release?
