IPOB's spokesman Emma Powerful has rejected a claim by a faction expelled from the group that former lead counsel Ifeanyi Ejiofor has been reappointed, calling the supposed appointment letter a "dead on arrival" document signed by expelled members. Powerful said the letter, allegedly signed by Chika Edoziem, who is no longer an IPOB member, has no legal standing and described it as an unethical attempt by sacked individuals to claim authority they no longer possess. He emphasized that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu sacked Ejiofor, first verbally and then in a signed letter dated July 22, and that Ejiofor remains expelled and compromised. Powerful added that Ejiofor’s alleged professional failure contributed to Kanu's continued detention and warned him to stay away from IPOB's legal affairs. The spokesman reiterated that IPOB remains united under Kanu's leadership and the 4th Directorate of State, insisting that any claim of reinstatement is baseless and that the group's code of conduct supersedes internal dissent.
