Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati arrived in Doha today for high-level discussions with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. The talks focus on a possible agreement with the United States aimed at ending the three-month Middle East conflict and securing the release of Iran's frozen assets. This marks the first major diplomatic mission by senior Iranian officials to the Gulf region since the war outbreak. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed Washington is prepared to continue diplomatic efforts, noting a significant proposal is under discussion involving reopening the Strait of Hormuz and fresh nuclear negotiations. Iranian state media indicates Tehran is assessing Washington's seriousness before agreeing to any ceasefire arrangement. Central Bank Governor Hemmati joined specifically to discuss the issue of frozen funds, with IRNA reporting some American commitments under any agreement would likely be implemented with Doha's assistance. Diplomatic efforts had been facilitated by Pakistan in recent months.
