Iran'snew Supreme Leader vows to continue war, close Strait of Hormuz

The announcement follows his appointment by Iran's constitutional body of clerics after his father, former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, died in missile strikes linked to the ongoing hostilities. Over 1,300 people have reportedly died in Iran since the war began, with eight US soldiers and at least 13 fatalities confirmed in Israel.
