JAMB arrested two candidates and one parent on Friday for using AI and electronic tools to falsify 2026 UTME results by manipulating official SMS notifications from numbers 55019 and 66019 to fabricate or alter scores. The arrests came as JAMB released scores for 632,788 candidates who took the exam on Thursday, April 16, with results continuing to roll out in batches nationwide through April 22.

JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin stated the suspects are in custody for result falsification, warning this constitutes a serious criminal offense punishable by law. He specifically cautioned against tampering with result messages from JAMB's official SMS platforms, emphasizing the board will prosecute all involved parties fully.

With the 2026 UTME running from April 16-22 across Nigerian examination centers, candidates should note that official results come only through verified JAMB channels. Any attempt to manipulate scores via AI or electronic means risks criminal prosecution, invalidation of results, and potential bans from future examinations. Is the convenience of falsified scores worth jeopardizing your academic future?
