JAMB has approved a one-time update of registered GSM numbers and email addresses for candidates who have lost access to their original contact details. The service commenced on September 21, 2026 and is available only at designated JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, including Professional Test Centres (PTC), Professional Registration Centres (PRC) and State Offices where applicable. Candidates must undergo identity and biometric verification before their contact details can be changed, and the update can be done only once.

This development matters for the 2,243,816 candidates who registered for the 2026 UTME nationwide, with Lagos alone accounting for 321,814 registrations. It ensures candidates receive timely admission updates, especially as JAMB expands technology-driven services—such as the online O’Level result verification system introduced in August, which carries a flat fee of ₦4,000. The Board projects ₦23.8 billion in internally generated revenue for 2026 and expects to remit ₦6 billion to the Federation Account as operating surplus.

Candidates seeking to update their phone number or email must visit an authorised JAMB centre, present valid identification and complete biometric verification, and double‑check that the new contact is accurate, as the change is irreversible for this admission cycle. Unauthorised individuals or unofficial channels should be avoided. If you've lost access to your JAMB‑linked phone or email, will you visit a designated centre today to secure your admission updates, or risk missing important notifications?
