JAMB maintains 150 cut-off mark for 2026 university admissions
JAMB has retained 150 as the cut-off mark for university admissions for the 2026/27 academic session, announced during a policy meeting in Abuja on Monday. The decision followed a vote by vice-chancellors present at the meeting, marking no change from previous years' requirements.
Heads of Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria also agreed on minimum scores across institutions: universities and colleges of nursing will maintain the 150 threshold, while polytechnics will accept candidates with a minimum of 100. This establishes baseline eligibility criteria for the upcoming admission cycle.
Students who scored 150 and above in JAMB are eligible to apply for university admission, though individual institutions may set higher specific cut-offs. For polytechnic aspirants, the minimum requirement is now 100, opening more opportunities for technical education. As admission processes begin, candidates should monitor their chosen institutions' specific requirements alongside these national minimums.
Will your JAMB score of 150 meet the requirements for your university of choice, or will you need to consider polytechnics with the lower 100 threshold?
