JAMB pushes admission offer deadline to Nov 30 for 2021-2025 candidates
JAMB has pushed the deadline for candidates with outstanding admission offers from 2021 to 2025 to accept or reject those offers on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) to November 30, 2026. The board announced the extension on its X handle, noting that the earlier deadline of September 30, 2026, which followed an initial August 31 cutoff, is now moved to give candidates more time to act. Candidates must log into their CAPS accounts and indicate whether they want to accept or reject each outstanding offer; otherwise, the offers will automatically revert to ‘Not Admitted’ after November 30. JAMB warned that any later attempt to update an admission that has reverted will incur the applicable penalty fee. The extension comes as JAMB continues to fix technical issues that temporarily disrupted CAPS access in late September, a disruption that Nairametrics reported was resolved on September 28. The board urged institutions to speed up their 2026/2027 admission processes and advised candidates not to wait until the last minute to check their CAPS status. This affects thousands of candidates who have held admission offers for several years and need to finalize their status to avoid losing the offers or paying extra fees to reinstate them.
