JAMB has released the results of the 2026 UTME mock examination, allowing candidates to preview their performance ahead of the main exam scheduled for April 16. Candidates who participated in the March 28 mock can now check their scores by sending "MOCKRESULT" to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration. Note: this SMS service incurs a charge.

The mock exam saw 224,597 candidates register nationwide, though only 152,586 (68%) successfully completed it across 989 CBT centres. This follows significant technical issues during the exercise, including system failures, delayed logins, incomplete questions, and abrupt shutdowns. In response, JAMB has delisted over 20 CBT centres deemed technically inadequate.

This matters because the 2025 UTME was marred by widespread technical glitches that led to mass cancellations and thousands of candidates forced to retake the exam. The board appears to be taking technical preparedness more seriously now, but the mock's 32% dropout rate raises concerns about readiness for the main exam.

JAMB warns candidates to beware of fraudsters—particularly on WhatsApp—claiming they can inflate scores for a fee. Such claims are criminal and risk cancellation of registration, withholding, or withdrawal of results.

What should you do? Check your mock result via SMS if you participated. For the April 16 main exam, confirm your CBT centre assignment early, arrive with proper identification, and prepare for potential technical delays. With only 68% of mock candidates completing successfully, contingency planning is essential. Should you trust that the technical issues have been fully resolved, or prepare for disruptions? Consider arriving extra early and having your NIN and registration details easily accessible.
