JAMB restores CAPS, pushes institutions to speed up 2026/2027 admissions
JAMB announced that its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) is fully operational again after a temporary disruption on September 24 that halted the platform during the 2026/2027 admission exercise. The restoration means tertiary institutions can resume processing admissions on the centralised platform, and JAMB has urged them to accelerate activities to recover lost time while keeping the original deadlines: public universities by October 31, 2026, private universities by November 30, 2026, and other tertiary institutions such as polytechnics and colleges of education by December 31, 2026.
Candidates who receive admission offers are advised to accept them promptly via CAPS, and those awaiting their 2026 NECO SSCE results should upload or verify those results immediately to ensure their credentials are available for consideration. JAMB also reminded candidates that a one-time option to change registered GSM numbers or email addresses remains available at designated centres for those who lost access to their original contact details.
With CAPS back online, institutions must intensify admission work, especially those whose processes were affected by the downtime. Candidates are encouraged to check their admission status regularly and respond quickly to offers to avoid missing the revised timelines.
