Veteran actor Jide Kosoko defended President Bola Tinubu’s administration during an interview on the 'Talk To B' podcast hosted by Biola Adebayo, with the video posted on YouTube Friday night (October 16, 2026). He said the country’s economic situation is not as bad as critics portray, arguing that people make money through their own effort and that current challenges stem from previous governments’ failure to plan for Nigeria’s growing population and to remove the fuel subsidy. Kosoko, a known APC supporter, pointed out that his generation’s leaders failed to end the subsidy, worsening the situation, but noted that the same generation is now leading efforts to fix it. He highlighted the administration’s NELFUND student loan programme, urging beneficiaries to share their experiences so citizens can see the impact of government policies. Kosoko also said Nigerians must collectively face difficulties to overcome challenges, and that removing the subsidy is necessary to face reality, even if it means spending less on non‑essential items. He dismissed complaints about hunger by suggesting many complainants had no meaningful livelihood before Tinubu took office, and appealed for patience as the country rebuilds, insisting the president is on the right track and calling for a second term in the next election.
