News Jos: We’ve arrested those who threatened attack after Ramadan – Commissioner Published on April 1, 2026 By Matthew Atungwu googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1500386953281-8'); }); Plateau State Commissioner for Information, Joyce Ramnap, says the government has arrested those who threatened that there would be an attack in Jos after Ramadan. The Commissioner made this known on Tuesday during an interview on Arise Television monitored by DAILY POST. Recall that at least 20 people were confirmed killed and several others injured after heavily armed gunmen laid siege on Angwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State on Sunday. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1524595905268-5'); }); Reacting, the Commissioner said, “To start with, no government will be aware that they will be attacking the community and they will not do anything about it. “Those who announced there would be attacks in Jos after Ramadan have been arrested. “The state government alone will not be able to achieve the necessary results required. Everyone has a responsibility for these people to be brought to book. “And just yesterday, again, the police Deputy Inspector-General of Police was in Plateau, and the governor reiterated that position to say, okay, we want to see what happens to the outcome of this prosecution and the investigation that will be conducted and hopefully more arrests should be done in this case. “Now you can see that when arrest is done, it may not go through the military, the army. The arrest will go through the police. The investigation will go through a channel. “The prosecution will go through another; that is the judiciary, and it’s a whole team that will work on this issue to be able to bring a lasting solution.” Don't Miss Christian Media Forum decries Plateau killings, tasks security agencies to redouble efforts, track perpetrators You may like Plateau attacks: Govt eases curfew in Jos North Palm Sunday killing: We’ll protect you – Nigerian Govt tells Jos residents NBA condemns Plateau killings, demands action over Palm Sunday attack in Jos Palm Sunday massacre: Reactions as actor Zuby Michael asks Christians to leave Jos Nigeria cannot keep bleeding’ — CAN reacts to Palm Sunday attack in Jos North ‘Govt has failed’ – Outrage trails Palm Sunday killings in Jos
