Human rights advocate Ene Obi criticized Minister Festus Keyamo for claiming civil society organizations (CSOs) don't represent Nigerians' wishes. Obi spoke after protests demanding real-time electronic transmission of election results, which the National Assembly approved with manual collation as backup. President Tinubu signed the Electoral Act, 2022 into law 24 hours later. Obi stated, 'It's unfortunate Keyamo thinks CSOs don't represent Nigerians' wishes. He used to be on this side. Power is temporary.' The opposition, including Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi, supported the protests. Keyamo's stance contradicts his past activism, raising questions about his current position.
