The Kwankwasiyya Movement has clarified that its leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso, never threatened to quit the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) over candidate replacements. Spokesman Habibu Mohammed dismissed the speculation as "mere rumours," stating neither the movement nor its leader is complaining about the party's candidate selection process.

The clarification follows earlier reports suggesting the bloc might exit the NDC after several candidates submitted by the Kwankwasiyya Movement were replaced. However, Mohammed emphasized that party primaries were conducted on May 29 in strict compliance with the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines, with winners affirmed the same day.

According to the movement's statement, NDC stakeholders had previously agreed on a consensus model for candidate selection, resulting in a submitted list without internal disputes. Mohammed added that Kwankwaso has not communicated any grievances with the party leadership to the movement, indicating continued cohesion within the political alliance.

This clarification suggests the NDC maintains stability with its coalition partners despite earlier rumors of internal rifts over candidate selection processes.
