Kwankwasiyya Movement studies Supreme Court ADC ruling to avoid political traps
The Kwankwasiyya Movement says it's carefully studying the Supreme Court judgment on the African Democratic Congress leadership dispute to avoid any political or legal traps. Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed, movement spokesperson, praised the court for its 'courage and clarity' in setting aside orders that created confusion and correcting procedural irregularities that artificially suspended party leadership.
The judgment restored order within the ADC but sent the substantive case back to the trial court. The movement, concerned about the 'limited time within the electoral cycle,' is exploring strategic options including alliances with the National Democratic Congress and People's Redemption Party to ensure participation in the 2027 general elections.
'We are actively exploring all lawful and strategic options available to neutralise any such obstacles,' the statement read, emphasizing their goal to 'safeguard our political rights, protect democratic participation, and ensure that no contrived circumstances are allowed to silence the voice of the people.' A final decision on political direction will be made known soon.
