Rabiu Kwankwaso accepts NDC's decision to zone its 2027 presidential ticket to the South, ruling himself out as presidential candidate but potentially positioning for VP slot. The former Kano governor made this declaration Saturday at NDC national convention in Abuja, emphasizing the decision allows the South to complete its turn in producing national leadership. Kwankwaso, who recently joined NDC after resigning from ADC, had sought the party's presidential ticket himself. With NDC's zoning, Peter Obi's chances of becoming the party's presidential candidate have significantly improved while Kwankwaso may now be considered for vice-presidential position. The politician, who served as Kano governor (1999-2003, 2011-2015) and Defense Minister (2003-2007), promised to work in line with the party's decision for national healing. He emphasized NDC would prioritize leadership without ethnic and religious bias, urging supporters to register to vote. His political journey includes stints in PDP, APC, NNPP, and most recently ADC before joining NDC. This strategic positioning could reshape the 2027 presidential dynamics.
