Learn Africa Plc confirms retirement of Board Director Egbichi Akinsanya effective Sept 22
Learn Africa Plc has announced the retirement of Mrs. Egbichi Akinsanya from its Board of Directors, bringing to an end her six-year tenure as an Independent Non-Executive Director. The company disclosed the development in a statement signed by DCSL Corporate Services Limited, its Company Secretaries, with retirement effective September 22, 2026.
Learn Africa expressed appreciation for Akinsanya's contributions to the company during her time on the board, noting her significant role in developing policies and ensuring a robust organizational structure that provided foundation for growth. Her retirement comes weeks after technology entrepreneur Iyinoluwa Aboyeji also exited the board, marking departure of both directors appointed during the same period in 2020.
Before joining Learn Africa in 2020, Akinsanya built an extensive career across banking, regulation and consumer goods sectors, serving as Managing Director of FBC Beverages Company Limited and Group Treasurer at British American Tobacco Nigeria Limited. She also worked at Citibank Nigeria Limited and the Securities and Exchange Commission (Nigeria), and is a member of the Chartered Governance Institute (UK/Ireland) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. She currently serves as Chairman of the Board of FMDQ Private Markets Limited.
This governance transition occurs as Learn Africa, Nigeria's largest educational publisher, continues to strengthen its leadership structure and pursue its growth agenda. With both 2020 appointees now departed, what impact will this have on the company's strategic direction and board continuity moving forward?
