Afrobeat singer Made Kuti (30, Grammy-nominated son of Fela Kuti) revealed he didn't go down on his knees when proposing to wife Inedoye Onyenso because he believes marriage should be mutual, not one person begging. "We are not begging each other to be with each other," he said on Timeless Podcast recently.

The couple married privately in Lagos in November 2023. Made shared that Inedoye was his former "school daughter." In 2025, he addressed accusations of "mixing blood" due to their different ethnic backgrounds, calling ethnic bigotry "slave mentality."

The musician's stance challenges traditional marriage proposal norms while advocating for equality in relationships. What do you think about modern approaches to marriage proposals and traditional expectations?
