Maikaba honored to lead Nigeria's seven-time African champions Flying Eagles

Abdu Maikaba formally announced as new head coach of Nigeria U-20 Flying Eagles, two weeks after appointment. The experienced tactician replaces previous coaching setup and will lead the team at July's WAFU B U-20 Championship.

Maikaba, who previously worked as assistant coach with both Flying Eagles and Golden Eaglets, expressed deep honor for the role. 'I am deeply honored for this role as Head Coach of the Nigeria U-20 Flying Eagles,' he wrote on X. 'To lead this team is a massive responsibility and a privilege I do not take lightly.'

Nigeria enters the tournament as seven-time African champions with football history built on 'passion, grit, and talent.' Maikaba's appointment comes with high expectations as the team prepares to defend continental dominance at regional level.
