Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed did not obtain presidential forms from the Taminu Turaki-led Peoples Democratic Party for the 2027 election, according to media personality Babajide Kolade-Otitoju. Speaking on TVC, Kolade-Otitoju explained that Makinde understands he wouldn't be on the ballot if he didn't join the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). He dismissed speculation about a merger between parties, emphasizing that no merger can happen without approval from INEC, the electoral regulator. The analyst noted this differs from past mergers like APC's around 2013, suggesting current attempts lack proper regulatory foundation. This development significantly impacts PDP's 2027 presidential strategy as key governors appear to be exploring alternative political platforms.
