Meta rolls out AI-powered Facebook tools for smarter search, photo editing
Meta has introduced new AI-powered features on Facebook, including AI Mode search that uses Meta AI’s Muse Spark technology to surface real answers from public posts across Groups and Reels instead of generic results. The update also adds AI-driven camera roll sharing suggestions with collage cutout templates for moments like friend hangouts and new transition effects for stylized video montages. Users can virtually change clothing, hair, or accessories—including wearing a sports team jersey—via the AI Edit icon in Stories (‘Wear It’) or by tapping ‘Restyle profile picture with AI’ on their profile picture and selecting ‘Wardrobe’. All sharing suggestions remain opt‑in and can be turned off at any time.
For Nigerian users, especially content creators, small business owners, and everyday Facebook users, these tools lower the barrier to creating engaging content. AI Mode helps find relevant, locally‑sourced information from Nigerian Groups and Reels, while the editing features let users produce polished photos and videos without advanced skills or extra apps. This can improve reach and engagement on a platform widely used for personal networking, brand promotion, and informal commerce across Nigeria.
The features are rolling out now; AI Mode appears in the Facebook search bar, camera roll suggestions are opt‑in, and AI Edit is accessible through Stories or the profile picture menu. No additional cost is required—users just need the latest Facebook app. Consider experimenting with these tools to enhance your content or business presence, and adjust your privacy settings if you prefer not to receive AI‑generated suggestions.
